I'm going to be working downtown this summer (mid-May-Labour Day) and am coming from out-of-state.

Does anyone know of an online forum/board where WashU/SLU/UMSL students post sublet opportunities? My university has one, am I'm hoping those schools do too. So far, Craigslist is a bit of a bust....I'm hoping to find a place that runs $450-$650, and living in Tower Grove or Shaw would be my first choice.

I've always had really good luck with Craigslist. My summer sublets were both found through there. Your problem will likely be that most undergrads don't live in Tower Grove or Shaw--it's typically grad students who stick around all year. The apartments that SLU students are typically looking to sublet are more expensive. I subleased just north of Forest Park one summer, and just west of WashU on the UCity/Clayton border another--both from WashU students.

Also, know that a lot of colleges are back in session before labor day. Most people will want you out before then.

ETA: I know SLU has cheap summer housing in one of the dorms as well, but I don't know if it's just for SLU students.

You may also be able to work something out with one of the larger leasing companies in the city. I know Garcia properties has quite a few rentals in that area, maybe you could e-mail them and see if you could work something out?
