Upscale movie theater coming to downtown

A three-screen movie theater, housing, retail and a blues museum.

I've seen how hopping the AMC is in downtown KC -- and it's also a GORGEOUS theatre, so i'm pretty excited at the prospect.

Think there will be enough demand for it? Is it a good call for it to be adults only?

Also curious to hear more about what this blues museum will entail -- that's something I've been clamoring for for a long time!

That's a pretty quick turnaround on those.

Everytime I'm down there I'm more and more impressed by the progress!

Sounds much like the Chase and Moolah theatres--both of which I love going to.

Been to both theaters and am a fan of them. Is the Downtown theater in KC the one on the plaza? I can remember going to it back when my wife was in college down there, but i also remember it closing for renovations, and i don't think we went back after that.

Sounds like an awesome plan though, my wife's never gotten to frequent either the Moolah or the Chase theater, so at some point i think i'll have to take her out on the town for a lil date night .

This is a fantastic plan! I especially like the "mixed use" aspect of the project-- the movie theatre, the blues museum, residences, and shops-- all in one building.
You know, until the blues museum plan was mentioned, it never even occurred to me that STL, a city known for blues music, doesn't have a museum to honor that style of music. How has this been overlooked for so long?
I'm glad that downtown STL will finally have a movie theatre (after nearly a decade without one). And designating the theatre "adults only" is a very wise choice. Otherwise, the place would quickly become overrun with unruly teens, and it wouldn't last any longer than Union Station Cine did. I think they are making the right choice.

No, there is one on the Plaza (a Cinemark), but the one downtown is only a few years old and is right in P&L.
