Super cool: Sauce Magazine Blog » Blog Archive » Mark your calendar for the first Food Truck Friday, June 10!

Introducing Food Truck Fridays, a free monthly Sauce event where local food trucks will gather for an evening of friends, fun and plenty of good food. The first Food Truck Friday will be held Friday, June 10, at Tower Grove Park, where your favorite mobile restaurants will be dishing out their fresh fare from 4 to 8 p.m. Haven’t tried the beef short rib tacos at Cha Cha Chow yet? It’s time to fix that. Want to satisfy that sweet tooth but can’t decide between Sarah’s Cakestop and The Sweet Divine? Now, you don’t have to. Not been able to track down the Pi or Holy Crêpe trucks yet? Here’s your chance.
That’s right, the finest food trucks on St. Louis’ streets, including Pi On the Spot, Cha Cha Chow, Fats Pierre, Mangia Mobile, The Sweet Divine, Sarah’s Cakestop, Wanderlust Pizza, Holy Crêpe, Falafelwich Wagon and more will be there, excited to meet the friendly faces of their hungry customers.

Whats wrong (and cooler than) a plain old Taco Truck, papa at the wheel, mama making some of the best homemade mexican food on the planet and a nice cold Horchata, Modelo or Tecate.

I'll take the real deal anyday. Lets get rid of these glorified roach-coaches serving what is essentially over priced street food.

Stupid hipsters: worse than yuppies.

I was just in San Francisco last week. Yep, there is a backlash there too.

Yes, they still exist, but by this time next year, they will be occupying space at the county fair. Over priced and trendy are not good business models.

And Im not exactly bashing Saint Louis. Just bashing dumb trends and the vapid trendoids that follow them - Whereever they may be.

Some of the trucks have decent food. The taco truck here is decent. But obviously you're never going to get gourmet food from a truck

The authentic ones are very good. the ones with the Hand lettering that don't look like they showed be occupying a spot in Hot Rod Magazine.

But you also don't want to eat from one that looks like a mobile ptomaine dispensary. Being able to tell the difference can save your life.

The proliferation of poseur food trucks are making it very difficult for the authentic ones to survive or too find an inexpensive tasty, grindage. Thank god that this trend is slowly fading away.

I think the event sounds great actually. Was just making a general comment about food trucks as someone that's tried most of the local ones.
