City murders are down from 144 in 2010 to 113 in 2011.

Great news. Would like to see a breakdown of other crimes too. That knockout game nonsense seems to have died down too but that's likely a result of the changing season.

It's important to note the city had nearly 300 murders in 1993 and around 170 just a couple of years ago. This follows a nationwide trend. I have my ideas of why but regardless, this is a very good thing.

Fantastic to see. KC is actually well up in murders for the year, and I'm very happy to see St. Louis not sliding backwards as well.
