^I didn't know that was a St. Louis thing, actually! Though it is a pretty ubiquitous low-end wedding food in STL for sure.

I had no clue Mostaccioli was a St. Louis thing either. Who'd have thought? I don't think I ever ate it in my time in the 'Lou', nor did I ever know it was meant to be served at parties etc

OH I just thought of another one by the way...

Spinning Salad from Top of the Tower Restaurant. St. Louis Retro at its best!

Mostaccioli definitely. As for being "low-end wedding food," I never thought of it as being hoosier food but maybe that's what it was. God bless it regardless!

Hot tamales were a common food in the early 20th century. My grandmother ended up marrying a hot tamale man; both were immigrants from Bohemia (now Czech republic). See MS Delta Hot Tamale Trail | Introduction for more info on this delicacy.

LOL so funny you say that. The wife and I fielded more "Where's the mostacciolli?!" questions during our reception than I care to remember (we had slightly higher end food). We did have toasted ravs though! Of course everyone also has their own special version of mostacciolli with a "secret ingredient" that in my wife's family is brown sugar. And you aren't saying it right unless you say "Musk-a-choli"

What is your opinion of Eat-Rite on Chocteau?
