Taco Bell on S Kingshighway has been torn down. But not to worry-- a brand new Taco Bell with a new look is being built in its place.
Speaking of Mexican food: I tried out the new El Toro restaurant that recently opened in Southtown Center, and it's very tasty. :-)

Taco Bell and El Torito are Gringo Food, not Mexican.

The new restaurant will be called King Louie's It it is not affiliated with the former King Louie's on Choteau. It is affiliated with a current King Louie's in Wood River, IL. It will be open, I believe, 24hrs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also believe the owner is the brother of the owner of Annie Gunn's in Chesterfield.

The name will be initially confusing to those familiar with the former restaurant of the same name in the city.

In the Midwest, it is considered Mexican food at it's finest.

Pffft yeah right. Maybe to the people you know. We actually have a couple of decent Mexican places in St. Louis. When I lived in Chicago, they had amazing Mexican food.

Other new restaurants scheduled to open on Washington Avenue include Empire Deli & Pizza, Bella's Frozen Yogurt, and Alpha Brewing Company.

Wilson's BBQ opened at 4904 Devonshire.

And the former Deals location at 3148 South Kingshighway is now open as "Furniture And Rug".

Someone told me that the Wonder Bread Store at 4288 Chippewa had closed. Does anyone know how long ago this happened?
