Fridays game was a severe PITA. No reason the world they shouldn't have taken the pennant.

Lynn is a Dufus. They'll never be able to depend on him to properly field. And once he commits a dufus-ness, he CAN be depended on to choke. He looked great in the first: after committing the error, had he just pitched as in the first, the Cards might well have won.

The Carpenter-Vogelsong game is do-able, but there's considerably more risk involved. Alas, 'tis a shame.
