First off, I'm sorry about your Redbirds' loss in the NLCS. They had a strong team, a powerful pitching staff, and they're a classy organization with great baseball fans. The outcomes in games 5, 6 & 7 were very unexpected.

That said, I have to travel to St. Louis this weekend. I'll be in the Maryland Heights area.

Instead of watching the games from my hotel room or in its bar, are there good places (maybe sports bars?) in that area or nearby where I can watch the games from?

And, are there any places where SF Giants fans gather to watch the series? I know, I know, please spare me the jokes... This is a serious request.

Thanks in advance!

In Maryland Heights, you have a few options at Westport Plaza like Trainwreck and whatever Pujos 5 is called now (someone will help me out there I'm sure). You could also head to Harrah's casino, which has a few nice bars you can sit at and watch the game.

There's also Maryland Yard at 270 and Dorsett, which is your standard bar, but I am pretty sure you can still smoke there (very few bars in STL left where you can do that) so that might be a bad choice if you want to avoid that.

I believe Pujols 5 Restaurant has now returned to the long time name of Patrick's, after a brief failed attempt to change Pujols 5 to something else. Anyway, I agree that Westport Plaza is the good place to start for proximity. There are some other driving distance sports bars. And, many restaurants and bars should be carrying the games.

I haven't been to WestPort in a couple years but I remember watching a game or two at Ozzie's there until it shut down a few years ago. Was it replaced by another Sports bar there in the same location or did having Pujols 5 nearby prevent that from happening? I also haven't been to Patrick's since it has been renamed back again and wonder if they changed anything besides the name (and possibly removing some of the Pujols memorabilia). I also remember we used to go to the Krieger's there on Dorsett by Ace Hardware and Gold's Gym, but I remember that one closed down too! It must be something else by now, but I have no idea what it is.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive to a place that has a little more personality and more coastal vibe, checkout Over/Under downtown on Washington Ave.
