I was watching the Food Channel last night. The Cupcake Wars was won by a man from St Louis who is taking his cupcakes and the display he designed to the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Florida. SoBeWFF

He owns a place called Jilly's or Gilly's something or other in the city. I never saw the name of this place in print. His comment about his win was, "It's good for St.Louis and the Midwest!" Congrats to him!

If you've ever been there I'm curious. Tell me about it.

Yep, Jilly's is a popular cupcake shop in University City. I always wondered how well they were doing since they were on Living Social fairly frequently.

I need to kiss my English teacher! Spelling Jilly's was a wild guess.

Yep, been there with my wife a few times. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't really like sweets (specifically Cupcakes) all that much. My wife on the other hand really loves the place. I think my wife 1st heard of Jilly's back on Woody and Rizzuto on 105.7 The Point and they were a show sponsor. Apparently, there are also two locations, the one on Delmar and one on Manchester around I-270, but the Manchester location is only a carry out (according to my wife).

I took my kids to this place as well, and though cupcakes are not my thing, my daughter would be inclined to give two thumbs up to this place.

Been there too. THe icing is made with crisco and Im not a fan of the greasy taste. I prefer buttercream frosting. They also serve lunch and brunch on Sunday. I had lunch there twice and it was good food.
