I have a date for Sunday evening and want to find a nice and upscale movie theater between St. Charles and downtown STL. Anyone got any ideas?

If anyone has been to MX Theater in downtown STL...I'd like something like that. Are there any similar theaters that serve food/wine in plush seats in the middle of those 2 areas?

I love the Hi Pointe! It's very retro (the blue chairs were installed in the 60s I believe?) and although I've heard people call it 'shabby', I think it's a wonderful experience! Also, it's great to support the small, independent theaters in my opinion

So I definitely second the Hi Pointe! It's not going to be your upscale, classy, newfangled MX theater- but they do serve alcoholic beverages and it's definitely cozy, and I'd be thrilled if I was single and a date suggested we go there

A loveseat at the Moolah is great for a date movie.

Another option is the cinema suites at the AMC West Olive 16, 12657 Olive Blvd in Creve Coeur (the fork & screen seats are good too, but not 21+ only like the cinema suite seats).
Atmosphere-wise, the West Olive 16 is nothing special, but the cinema suite experience is pretty nice.

Moolah is an awesome theater. I don't think there was anything special about the 'Chase Park Plaza' but I might be mistaken, it's been a long while since I went there.

The AMC at West Olive is a dine in theater, and is very nice...and expensive. My wife and I did date night there, and I walked out with a $100 tab for dinner, snacks, drinks, etc...good time nonetheless, but it won't be how I go see a movie on a regular basis. But a nice treat, and classier than i expected it to be...the waiter/waitress was also not a distraction like I had thought she might be...very convenient.

I'll try to see if we can meet at Moolah. I've been there for bowling and drinks, but never to the movie. Are the love seats more expensive than the stadium seating portion? Is it a clean place?

No, all the seats are the same price, but you want to get their early to be able to get a love seat.
