Oh - and congrats to our Missouri western sister city, Kansas City, on the high placement as well.

But wait! I thought we were also one of the most miserable cities in America! Does that mean that I now have to take city "rankings" with a grain of salt? I'm so confused!

I was in STL the entire month of September and I do believe I smiled the whole time.

People do smile more in Saint Louis. I noticed it and commented on it when I moved here from Kansas City. And they smile right at you, like they knew you and were glad to see you - an absolute stranger. Moreover, they speak to you - a cheery good morning. It's heart-lifting.

Well, I'm happier here than I have been living anywhere else. Not surprised!
