Hi Tatiana,

I responded to your other post but yes, there is bus access in Maryland Heights

What kind of trade/ career school would you be interested in? There's plenty of options in the metro area and since Maryland Heights is conveniently located, you could get to a lot of options within 20 mins.

Gas is super cheap compared to other states!

While Maryland Heights is by no means the cheapest area of STL, it's definitely not expensive either. Since you mentioned in your other post that safety and school districts are important, I think it would be a good option.

Did you have a rent figure in mind or budget?

Glad to see that you're considering St. Louis! I love it here, as do many others and it's a great place to raise a child!

I think that budget in Maryland Heights might still be pushing it a bit for a 2 bedroom. However, one of the neighboring towns like Bridgeton (which is directly next to Maryland Heights- they kind of blend into each other, and is in the Pattonville School District, which is still AAA rated) might be an option because it's usually more affordable. I did a quick search, and you can get a 2 bedroom apartment in Bridgeton for around $615 whereas the cheapest 2 bedroom in Maryland Heights I found was $675.

With that said though, I personally would pay a tiny bit more to live in Maryland Heights (the $675 apartment was in the Parkway School District, which is better than Pattonville, although Pattonville is still very decent). It wouldn't make a huge difference either way though since Maryland Heights and Bridgeton are directly next to each other.

flynavyj (one of the other users in the St. Louis forum) may be able to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think even part of St. Ann (which is next to Bridgeton) is in the Pattonville School District, and may be more affordable still? That may be a consideration also.

Best of luck again!
