So I was told Maryland heights would be a good place to stay. But its kinda out of my price range. If I have to push it I will. But I want/need other recommendations on places to stay. It has to be quite and safe for a single mother and baby. Close to public transportation in case I dont get a car right away. I'm 23 so sometimes I might wanna go out or something but I need yall help because I can not afford to come and visit before I move. I dont know anyone or anything. I'm looking for a new start. My budget isbetween 500-600 for a 1bd. My son is only 6 months so he will sleep in my room. Please please help me

I would vote for Southwest St. Louis - St. Louis Hills area. As close to Francis Park as your 550-600 will get you. That would be a (in my opinion) a very nice, peaceful, convenient place to live with your young child. There are listings on Craigslist St. Louis, I'm not sure how legit they are but this was the first one on the list (using "francis park" as the search subject) that meets your criteria.

My advice: your child is a baby, don't worry about schools yet. It sounds like you need to focus on saving some money for a car. Good school district + transit options at your price point are pretty much nonexistent. The good news is, you've got a bit before you need to worry.
