I've been dealing with a blowfly infestation (I'm talking hundreds) in my apartment since August of last year (I won't say the name of the place), and while it died down quite a bit, there are still flies emerging (with plenty of energy) right now, in the middle of winter. Obviously, something either died in the walls, chimney, or some other hidden area of my apartment, or there's a natural gas leak.

When I first moved in a few years ago, I had wasps on my windows in about 2 months. They couldn't do anything about those, either. The maintenance guy who came basically shrugged and went, "mysteries of the universe. Well, they'll probably die in the winter."

Come spring, they were back, and the only reason I'm still here is my dad blocked off the fireplace and that likely was their point of entry. I even mentioned that to the guy but he looked in and ruled it out, for whatever unknown reason.

Anyway, I just can't deal with this anymore. The thoughts of these filthy insects spreading their carrion-based disease all over makes me cringe. I almost never leave my bedroom now unless I'm going out, or to the bathroom.

Are there any apartments in the area without reports of bug problems? Are there any apartments in the area without fireplaces and lots of surrounding vegetation?

I would give a kidney to never see another green blowfly again as long as I live.

What area are you living in? I live in the city and while misquitos are annoying outdoors in the summer, and the occasional bee that builds a nest in my carport, I don't have many indoor insects during any time of the year, and I have a very old building. I know you don't want to list the complex, but a city / neighborhood?

Right now I'm living in Olivette, but I'd be willing to move to any suburbs that are fairly close.

I've lived in the City for almost three years and have only seen like 2-3 bugs in either of the places I've lived during that time.

I lived in a complex in Maryland Heights for two years and had zero issues! PM me for the name of the complex!

Also, there were no fireplaces in my complex.
