Not sure anybody around here cares (Judging by the point's ratings these days), but I guess Woody & Rizzuto are moving to LA. They seem pretty happy about it so good for them. I wonder who the point will get next I honestly kind of miss the howard stern days.

^ Do you know why they are leaving? I would have to think that the Point's format change has something to do with this. They do not play nearly as much good alternative rock. Now they play too much alternative pop. I have been very displeased with the format change. The Point was always a place to hear mostly alternative rock, modern hard rock, grunge, metal and more edgy stuff. Now it is mainly pop alternative. I want the old Point back!

If it means less late-90s Nu Metal and Korn/Slipknot angry-adolescent style music, and more Pitchfork/Austin City Limits (is that the nature of the change? I haven't had a reason to listen in ages), then they deserve a pat on the back. And an even bigger pat on the back, plus maybe some kind of medal for getting rid of their obnoxious AM hosts. Now if they could only hire Mary Lucia to fill the void...

Some of it is good..ie .. Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Imagine Dragons, etc, but some of it resembles disco, some pop, some just annoying. The Point was built on grunge, metal and alternative rock, not pop. If I want to listen to Lorde, I can turn on 107.7, 106.5 and 98.1. The Point was the only place to find good old fashioned modern (hard) rock, alternative rock, grunge and metal. If that has to include some nu-metal, so be it. I just think the Point is starting to morph into a station that already exists in this market, several times over.

PS_ Only Woody is leaving, not Rizzuto. He is taking over the morning show with another guy. Woody is the only one off to LA.

^Well Woody and Ravey. Rizz and Patrico are staying. I am kind of sad to see them go. Coming from Memphis, the Point is nice to have around (although I prefer the Buzz in Nashville). I also enjoyed having an entertaining morning show that wasn't syndicated in. It will be interesting to see where it goes from here. Rizz is less edgy (which was a draw for some) and Patrico hasn't had as much air time as the rest of the crew.

Well since I have been old enough to actually care about morning radio we have gone through several different morning hosts on 1057 the point, so I am sure it will continue on. But yeah IMO this entire format needs to die in a fire. Just one guy talkin here though.

My wife's a big fan, I occasionally like their show, but often I think it comes off a little childish and raunchy (the stuff of 12 year old boys) and I've never been a huge fan of the phrase "Waddup my ninja". From what the wifey told me, Woody received a really good offer from the West Coast and Rizz received a very similar/competitive offer as well...but Rizz's wife won't leave St. Louis and as such, he'll remain.

We all know, radio is a tough business. And if this deal is where Woody saw his career going, and the timing and $$ are right, I say "Good luck". It's a hard business, make the best of it.

Yeah I did not have that information at the time of the OP, so sorry for the confusion.

Woody always planned to leave though he was just waiting for the opportunity. I asked him about a year ago why his location on his twitter account said "St. Louis for now", and he told me that was just the nature of the radio business to move around a lot. I think he always pictured himself back in California though. The second he got this job his twitter location changed to "On our way...to LA".

Now that is the opposite of usual. Generally, it is the wives who find shows like this undesirable
