That area is no problem. Walk to lindell and euclid (one block west of the hotel) and walk north on euclid for a block (euclid and maryland) You'll get to one of the most lively corners in all of St. Louis. Lots of restaurants along Euclid as well. You picked a good spot to stay.

We are hosting a conference here at Wash U this summer and the Comfort Inn is one of our specially priced conference hotels. They gave us some pretty reasonable rates for such a prime CWE location. Another nearby hotel that gave us identical conference rates was the Parkway Hotel on Forest Park Parkway (3 blocks south of the Comfort Inn.) The Comfort Inn is smack there by the retail area (restaurants, bars etc) whereas the Parkway is right next to the WU Med Campus, Hospitals and Metrolink station. They are separated by a short 3 block walk along Euclid which is very pleasant as long as the weather isn't too bad (go away dreaded winter that never ends!) Pick whichever one is nearer to what is more important for you!

Were you happy with the Comfort Inn Wustu87 regarding it being clean and nice?

I have actually never stayed there myself, so I cannot personally attest to how nice the place is inside. Plus our conference is not until this June, so we will not hear from any attendees on how they enjoy the accommodations until then. The Comfort Inn is on the list of about 25 approved hotels that the university uses to house visitors. If there had been many past complaints I would hope the university would drop them off the list unless they improved conditions there, and I doubt they want to be dropped off the Wash U approved hotel list. Besides the Comfort Inn and the Parkway Hotel, the only other hotel in the CWE area is the Chase Park Plaza, and that one is pretty expensive.

My folks stayed there when they came to visit once and it's pretty nice. Much nicer than it appears from the outside. And the area around there is great. Tons of stuff to walk to and see.

Because of the reviews part of our group did not stay at the Comfort Inn. The other part of group who stayed there were not impressed with their rooms at all. However, you guys were right on about the location and neighborhood. We love it!!! Thank you again for your help.
