Advertisements

For those of you who live in the St. Louis area, what are some of the most familiar advertisements to you in this area? Like, what ads can you most easily recognize?

I'll start us off with what I feel is the most familiar of all: "Shane Company. In Brentwood at the intersection of I-170 and highway 40." (I know they moved but its been so well ingrained over the years that I can't remember the new one)

What ads can you all think of that are locally recognizable?

a couple slogans come to mind for me.... "the square beyond compare" (Imo's) and "because you like nice things" (Carol House)

Who remembers this one?

"We've got the Gateway Arch, antiques, amusement parks, boat rides, boulevards, baseball and beer...."

Here's the commercial. I think it was part of a 'tourism push' for St. Louis.

I'm sure I would have recognized it-problem is, it looks like it was made far before I was born. Any idea when this was created?

Man that's a blast from the past. With Jack Buck narrating too. I'd say it was made around 1978.
