I am moving to the St Charles area and trying to figure out where to live. I am between the Dardenneprairie, ofallon area or St charles. I have 2 small children and I am looking for a very family oriented area where we can make new friends. My husband works from home so the commute to the city is not a problem.

All of the above are family friendly, nice places to live. St Charles stands out for having a nice downtown area along the MO river. I wouldn't rule any of these options out--with my recent experience house hunting in the STL area, inventory is a little low, so it'll be good to have lots of options. It looks like statistically, there are more families with children in Dardenne Prairie and O'Fallon vs St Charles. O'Fallon is consistently on the lists of best places to live, if that matters to you. We have a lot of friends that live (or grew up) all over St Charles County. The low housing prices and good schools bring a lot of young families to that area.
