I currently live in Las Vegas, and worked at a small convention/large meeting at the beginning of February at MGM Grand. I worked for a staffing agency that had its employees pass out snacks to attendees. My co-workers and I were surrounded by people wearing collared purple shirts that said, "Maritz Travel" on them. I spoke to a guy about what that was all about and he explained it to me:
-The company flies its employees out to large meetings that are held all over the country
-It's freelance work
-Travel and hotel expenses are paid, and a per diem is given as well
-The man did mention that many people have to live in St. Louis, but some don't. Either way, Maritz pays for people to travel to work at these meetings as concierge
-Maritz often uses agencies to gather employees that will travel for meetings. (I wish I knew what agencies though)

I really wish I got this man's card. Anyways, I would be interested in learning more about this type of work, and possibly applying. I've never heard this line of work existed until that day. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I've looked on the Maritz careers website, and I'm not sure I see a position listed in open jobs. However, I don't know the actual job title. From what I witnessed, the Maritz people assisted meeting attendees with registration and answering questions about the resort, etc.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, and can give any information about this, I would greatly appreciate it. This could be my next job! : )

They are called Travel Directors. I don't think Maritz is hiring for any Travel Directors at this point, but they do hire frequently because there is a high turn around rate. Keep looking on their career website for the job posting. Good luck!

I have not heard many good things about the local Maritz when it comes to jobs.
