What do people know/think of this neighborhood? It was apparently an up and coming development before the crash of 2008, and the homes there seem very reasonable now, at least by my standards, close into town. It's not quite as fully redeveloped as the plan for the neighborhood by McBride and Sons would have wanted it to be, but I've read online in some business journal articles that they're working on finishing it off.

Seems super convenient in terms of proximity to SLU/Botanical gardens/Forest Park/downtown/interstates.

Any thoughts?

City Garden Montessori and the convenient location from a commuting standpoint with great highway access are the two real positives in my opinion vs the other surrounding areas. I considered the area briefly after looking in Shaw and Tower Grove Heights and finding nothing. Wasn't a huge fan for a few reasons: Basically bordered on 3 sides by things I have no interest in living on top of: rail road tracks, highway and major hospitals (sirens all the time). There's not much development in the area in terms of commercial offerings yet it's priced pretty similar to (if not more than) more established areas. Lastly, I discovered there's an HOA (yuck). From a personal preference standpoint I'm also just not much of a new build kinda gal and I think what they're building is pretty ugly. New builds must be having some success in that general vicinity though because I just saw another announcement about new builds in Shaw.

Thankfully, only looking to rent right now, so HOA isn't a huge issue.
