Hi everyone,

I live over on the Illinois side, and come into the city a lot, but Florissant is an area I've never really been to unless I'm driving through. I've heard good and bad, but my wife is wanting to get tickets to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Eagan Community Theater in Florissant.

I have a couple of questions, and I appreciate any answers in advance.

1) Is it worth the price of admission for anyone who has gone?

2) Is it in a safe part of town, and is travelling there at night problematic in any way?

Thank you!

I honestly haven't been to the Theatre, (even though I live close by), only the Eagan Center for other activities so I can't answer your first question...

But the area of Florissant it is in is perfectly safe and pleasant, and you'll have zero problems at night or otherwise New Halls Ferry Rd is ugly as anything (not unsafe, just ugly), but once you turn onto Parker to get to the Eagan Center it's fine.

I hope you all have a good time!

It's a fine community theater, but it's not like the Fox or anything. I don't know anything about the spelling bee but I'd say if you're interested enough to have come this far, you might as well go. The neighborhood is perfectly safe.
