Isn't that the truth, "what school did you go to?" (not actually asking you )

How is someone from New Jersey supposed to answer that.

I've been back in St. Louis a month and have not been asked that once.

I've been back a year and a half and haven't heard it at all either... nor has my husband (so the excuse that it's because I have an Australian accent doesn't fly, since he's definitely got an American accent).

That old mentality seems to be phasing out

I've lived in St. Louis for 3 years and only one person has ever asked me that. And then when I told them i wasn't from here we launched into a great convo about where I'm from and how I like St. Louis, etc., etc. Not an unpleasant experience at all.

Nobody asked me what school I went to but I will tell you anyway.
I went to St.Rufus in California, we had a mean nun named Sister Adilla who looked like Ernest Borgnine.
We called her Adilla The Nun. I only went to Catholic school for a couple of years. I can remember reading my report card and asking my mom what incorrigible mean't. I went to public schools in St.Louis and the first thing I noticed was the lack of fights on the playground compared to Catholic school.
