On the escalator, yea, people should stay to the right. It's actually not a real "rule" on Missouri freeways, we don't have a stay right except to pass law...but I do believe it's the way the interstates were designed.

I do think we have a judgement problem here as well (somewhat evidenced in this thread). Maybe it's a Midwest personality trait, there seem to be quite a few folks here who'll be quick to say "I'm doing this, don't know why you're in a hurry...but it's my God given right to stay in your way". I find that with the freeway system, bike trails, etc. There's always someone hanging out on the left.

There's a difference between being blocked on the highway, where the blocker could cost you many minutes of your journey, versus being blocked on an escalator, where you'll lose 30 seconds at most.

Anyway, can we please take this to a different forum? Someone can start a new thread.
