I'll be staying in downtown st louis for 2 days. Yes i'm eating at baileys range. I still need a couple other places to eat at though. What are some must eat places to try in downtown or near there? I will have a 6 year old with me.

Thanks

I was going to say BAILEY'S RANGE! first and foremost, but you've got that covered. Rooster is also fantastic for brunch (it's owned by the same people who own Bailey's Range). The Fountain on Locust is also really good, and not too far from downtown. They have a soda fountain with the most amazing ice cream treats I've ever had. Those are my top 3 must eats in the downtown/near downtown area.

I'd say Pi Pizza is a local favorite, has a location downtown, and is kid friendly. Sauce on the Side is popular fast casual calzone place.

Schlafly Tap Room is a must IMO and I've seen families in there almost every time I go down there.

Other very popular places that are little outside of downtown: Pappy Smokehouse or Bogart's BBQ. Bogart's is not too far from the A-B Brewery, if you're hitting that up. Pappy's is right by the theatre district & SLU.

Shaved Duck in Tower Grove has a line every day when it opens at 5. It's always packed for good reason. The food there is phenomenal. We also like West End Grill on Boyle, as well as Dressel's in the CWE.

I'm going to suggest Crown Candy Kitchen- more for it's landmark status than anything else! Plus, your 6 year old would probably really enjoy it

What about Charlie Ghitto's downtown? That place is pretty legendary as well. Or the Spaghetti Factory on the Landing?

Stop by at Baba's restaurant and pick up a whole roasted chicken for about $10.00 and perhaps you will never like any other chicken.

I would not say Bailey's Range is a must stop - it's housemade specialty burgers, fries, and shakes, somewhat pricey. There are plenty of better burgers to be had. Sauce on the Side is very good. Carmine's is a good choice for steaks. Bridge Tap House has the same owner as Bailey's - nice vibe, small plates, and huge beer/cocktail list. Blood and Sand is a fabulous private dining establishment, but on a weeknight give them a call and see if they have space.
