No I want to know the truth, not implications that Mr. brown was a supposed criminal that deserved what he got. That is despicable in my opinion to justify this shooting simply because the man allegedly committed petty theft. Even if Mr.Brown did break the officers jaw I am not sure the force displayed by the officers was necessary or even justified. Granted put into that situation could cause anyone to make bad decisions. There certainly needs to be a lengthy investigation into this and it is not an open and shut case as some are letting on.

That whole area almost blew up again moments ago. According to CNN The National guard and protesters together just took down an individual who was going to incite another riot by throwing a Molotov cocktail. Good to see that it did not happen.

Petty theft would have been shoplifting. It became a felon when Brown intimidated, became physical and strong armed the clerk.

He didn't deserve to be shot because of the strong arm robber he committed. If he did bum rush the cop or fight with the cop that's why he got shot.

White people that fight with the police have gotten shot too.

No it hasn't. What has been proven is that blacks are incarcerated at a much higher rate than Caucasians for committing similar crimes.

But don't forget that stuff like this is not really based in rational thinking, and the mentality or culture behind it is reinforced by generations of segregation and substandard education (schools and perhaps parenting) in St. Louis and elsewhere. Most of the rioters and looters live on the edge of society, just as their parents, grandparents, and other ancestors in the U.S. have lived. In many ways, though the rioting and looting has opportunistic benefit for many of the participating people, it's also a form of protest. Economically and culturally, blacks as a group have not kept pace with the material gains of whites as a group. Things like Manifest Destiny, "From Rags to Riches," and the Protestant Ethic are not really a part of their heritage, their family legends.

Many of these people live in multidimensional poverty, and have done so for generations-- what institutions should they have to revere, when institutions have pretty much failed them? what respect for property should they have, when most are too poor to own and maintain property? If the incident had happened to a white person, maybe what you said ("what an idiot", etc.) would be true, but that's probably because whites have not had the same kind of ghettoized experience over decades (centuries), locked into the same kind of cultural bubble generation after generation. Many whites are imbued with ideas of "upward mobility" and "assimilation into mainstream culture"--ideas that just aren't practicable for many blacks. It would be nice to think that these ideals of ascent and integration can reach them somehow, but for the most part, they don't seem to.

Unfortunately, these incidents will only reinforce segregation as whites sort themselves away from the blacks even more, and as the blacks continue the descent into even more segregated bubbles of poverty and disenfranchisement. Like Milwaukee, where I live, St. Louis is one of the most segregated metros in the U.S. The divide does not mean the segregated groups lead parallel lives-- on the contrary, the various communities of whites have developed in a way totally out of sync with the communities of blacks. They are truly different worlds, and it's hard for people from the one side to fathom the experience of the people from the other side. This has made true integration really difficult, if not impossible. And no, this is not to say that the looting and such should be "excused," but it is important to see these acts from perspectives other than the legalistic. These riots reflect a huge cultural disconnect between large groups of people--the blacks are, in a way, trying to tell America something, but are we willing to listen?
You sir/madam, have penned a very thought provoking, factual and hstorically actual depiction of the plight of the American minority. Kudos to you. Seriously. The sad part is that the points you emphasize will fall on either deaf or dumb ears. You and I can only hope that the people whom have not opened their eyes and minds to the facts you stated above can comprehend one day soon.....

Talk about a false narrative, and ignorant as well. In Atlanta for example, Blacks are 54 percent of the population, but are responsible for 96% percent of homicides, 95 percent of rapes, 94 percent of robbery's, 84 percent of aggravated assault, and 93 percent of burglary. Nationwide one in every three black males go to prison at some point in their lifetime, compared with one out of every 17 white males - Drugs offences are 16 times more prevalent in the black community than the white community. The homicidal killing of whites is 90 times more prevalent in the black community, than the homicidal killing of a black people in the white community. Black men commit more crimes (especially violent) crimes than any other racial group.

With many young black males violence and mayhem is celebrated and all to commonplace, the key is to keep welfare breeders of any race from having any incentive whatsoever to breed offspring they have no ability to parent, support, or even acknowledge.

Blacks make up 13% of the US population. Where do they live?.....not in bad apples backyard!

According to FBI crime data, in 2010, the most dangerous cities in America were Flint, MI (53% black), Detroit, MI (82%black), St. Louis, MO (51% black), and Memphis, TN (61% black) - No real description, convenient huh?

Yes that is true and indeed if that is what happened then we will know after the investigation is over, now that the FBI is involved. I would like to add that he was allegedly the suspect in a robbery, not convicted or even arrested.

If I was there I wouldn't go outside and join the protest, too big of a chance that violence from either the police or bad people would get me.

These protest do absolutely zero to get justice. Stay at home sit back and wait for all the evidence to come in.

It seems like some of these people in Ferguson believe that the cops in their town get together and wear KKK hoods and conspire to harm black people.

Relax people of Ferguson the police aren't out to hurt you.. You won't be hurt by the cops if you don't do anything wrong.

If you're a law abiding black person and you don't fight or charge at the cops then you have nothing to worry about.
