Hello All!

I just joined the forum.

I'm a huge fan of Fournier/Bernoudy/Shank designed Contemporary Homes.

Possibly putting together a Series/Book of outstanding examples of still-standing St Louis area Homes and Commercial Buildings built in the Mid-Century Atomic Age Style!

A lot of examples of this school of architecture exist from Post World War II Inner-Ring North STL County as well as Central West and South County.

There was a point in the 50s and 60s when St Louis was on the cutting edge of Contemporary Architecture!

Many other cities would be very jealous of our stock of Post-War beauties!

I hope St Louis will protect and honor these buildings.

Where are your favorites?!?!

Thank You in Advance for your responses!

I hope to one day own my own Mid-Century Masterpiece in STL County.

A lot of people love the 19th Century Brick homes in the City but they really aren't for me!

Creve Coeur has a lot of nice examples. Sunswept Drive is kind of famous and was designed by Fournier. I am pretty sure I remember driving through the Runnymede subdivision and being impressed with some of the mid-centuries there.

Here is a Fournier for sale in Chesterfield - I have been to this house on a couple of occasions - It looks even better in person.

I Could Be Happy Here: Mid-Century Modern Monday: West of St. Louis, MO

There is Craig Woods in Kirkwood -

Craig Woods Subdivision

As well as 2 large Fournier subdivisions in Crestwood - I grew up next to one and remember the 80's remodels where people tried to make them look colonial -

Modern STL is probably your best bet for learning more - They host some pretty good parties too

St. Louis Mid-Century Modern Architecture - Modern StL

Watch for houses for sale in Sugar Creek Valley in Kirkwood - outstanding custom mid cens - all one of a kind - due to the heavy foliage and deep valley - they are hard to see from the road - here is an example -

Kirkwood architect's modern home is one with nature : Lifestyles
