[quote=jojojohnson76;2696049]Wow, same exact situation for me. I have had 2 cable boxes go bad in 2 weeks. I havent even bothered to call them about the last one that broke down. Their customer service is incompetent.

From my experience with them, you cant call any of the 800 numbers becasue they are the worst people to deal with. I've been going straight with the local numbers. The top one has always worked bes for me.

When a box goes out, it was a lot faster to go by the office directly to drop it off and pick up a new one. Considering that their boxes go out on a regular basis, I have seen the inside of their Hampton office more than once.

Never try and sit on the phone with these fools- you should always go to their offices because it's harder to ignore a real person.

Go with Dish. I've tried all 3 and Dish is fantastic. Direct doesn't have the programming available that Dish does, price is comparable and Charter, well, they stink!!!! If you choose Charter, get your "register complaint" paper work from the Attorney General's Office because you'll need it.

We've had Dish since they were a baby.....over 12 years now and except for a few little snags have been very happy. We've moved states and they were there to re-hook everything up via their 'Dish Mover' the very weekend we moved in! We recently upgraded to a new double PVR and only had to pay $19 for it after the $100 credit to our bill and they were there the exact day they said they would be to hook everything up. Customer service has always been nice and helpful whenever we've had to call also.

I've heard horror stories about Charter....the latest that they 'accidently' deleted THOUSANDS of folks current email boxes! I'd be furious!

And I've compared prices with Direct TV and just didn't see the value or pricing we get with Dish.
