Just curious about interracial dating relations in STL. I was speaking to some people earlier and noted that I didn't see many (hardly any!) white man/black female romantic pairings. Why is that? It seems so odd in a city of this size, but I've certainly noticed that these couples aren't around. I can't believe that white men aren't interested in black women, and visa versa. Just seems strange... Any thoughts?

Well, STL is fairly segregated between areas mostly black people live and areas mostly white people live, so that's probably part of it. Having said that, I see interracial couples around here all the time, pretty much any time I go someplace where people younger than 30 hang out.

There arent a lot of interracial couples like you would see in Dallas but they do exist.

Why? I don't know. Places with younger money and a recent influx of an African American professional class may do better because of demographics.

Yeah, I guess that's what I've noticed, too. While I still don't usually see any interracial couples, the ones that I do see are usually the under-30 set. Just seems really odd that both black and white people aren't interracially dating and/or marrying in their 30s and 40s. So many people in that age bracket are still single or even divorced, and many are heavy into their careers -- and they're working together at the same companies.

Just a bit odd, and definitely strange for a city of this size -- the blaring separation and segregation. Men are attracted to women, and women are attracted to men. Race seems to be a much bigger deal than it should be when choosing a partner in STL.
