So, what are your thoughts about the difference between Kirkwood and Webster Groves public schools? Does anyone know which school system does a better job of educating students with disabilities in the context of their typically developing peers? Are there any elementary schools that stand out in Kirkwood as terrific: creative, inspiring, supportive and challenging learning envirnoments? THANKS for any insights. We've got to get our family relocated to the St. L area ASAP and we're still trying to decide between home in WG and Kirkwood. The school choice will be the decision making factor.

Avery Elem school is hard to beat! Voted top in the state. Webster Groves was recently listed as #9
in the top 10 towns in the U.S. to raise a family.

To anyone researching St. Louis schools:

It is worth your time and the $8.00 to order the back issue of this issue of St. Louis magazine, if your Realtor cannot provide you with a free copy: St Louis Magazine - March 2010 - St. Louis, Missouri

It has all of the stats, expenditures, rankings, teacher salaries and education levels, test scores, percentages, and student /teacher ratios. It was just released in March, so it's up to date and current.

Obviously, grade schools vary dramatically WITHIN the district. THe best way to determine the best fit for you is to talk to people within the district and try to find someone whose opinion you trust. However, this article is a fab resource and can provide you with the overall statistical view of the districts you are considering.
