STLtoday - Entertainment - Visit St. Louis (broken link)

St. Louis Post-Dispatch dug up some interesting rankings about St. Louis.

There is some stuff about STDs there, so it may not be appropriate for your kids.

But it's interesting.

Both good and bad.

That's a very interesting article. Saw that in the Post today. They had a very entertaining way of doing it in the paper. I couldn't figure out right away what you meant by STDs, then remembered. We weren't so politically correct back in my day.

everywhere in silly Chicago has Miller... I about crapped my pants the first time I went to a bar and they told me they didn't have bud light on tap or in bottles!

Miller tastes like they made it out of rotten animal carcasses... OK perhaps a bit of exaggeration on my part... but a girl needs her Bud Light.

I don't drink.

Partly because I'm underage, and also just because I don't really want to.

I know that sounds strange in beer country, but I really don't have any desire to drink beer.

Yeah, articles like that are sort of like reality TV: silly but you get sucked in anyway.

Aren't ya glad tailgating isn't big at the downtown stadiums? Yikes.

Best and worst cities for men??? What the hell does that mean?

I wonder if the high incidence of STD's has anything to do with the high incidence of Catholicism (resulting in lack of info about safe sex and contraception)? Just a question.

Ok...getting addicted to these forums. Better shut down for awhile.

Way to go STL, drunks, whores, and affordable living. Still love my city. Water is way better in St. Louis than out here in Central MO where I live now. The water is awful here.

Hey STLCB89... I was once like you, never had a drink til 21. I don't drink every weekend now... but I do enjoy it in moderation. That's the key.

Yeah when I lived in Columbia, the water was pretty bad, but the water is the absolute worst where I am now. It tastes so "mineral-ly" The SO and I buy those water jugs for the fridge now.

Nope. According to the CDC, the overwhelming majority of the STDs are in the African American portion of the city's population. The St. Louis Post reported last year that ninety percent(!!!!) of the areas' chlamydia and gonorrhea victims were African American. While there are certainly some African American Catholics, most of them are are some other denomination.

Also, the Catholic parents I know do talk to their kids about safe sex.
