Why should we even been honoring Confederates in the first place?

Actually, no. White supremacists were doing things like lynching people, passing Jim Crow laws, and fighting to keep slavery.

Lynching of a slave was rare but indeed happened. However, it would not be in the best interest of the slave owner to just lynch his slaves willy-nilly. A slave would be lynched if he committed a criminal act. Lynching was a common form of capital punishment at the time so many white criminals were executed in the same manner. The electric chair and lethal injections were not available at that time.

This is unbelievably ignorant. Many Blacks who where lynched where upstanding business men who loved their families and that intimidated the daylights out of racist. Wow!

I was not talking about lynching slaves. I was talking about stuff done outside of the law. I'm talking about the post-Reconstruction days when I said "lynching". And in the case of Blacks, alot of Blacks were lynched without evidence of any crime taking place.

Is that first sentence a preface to your second sentence?

This is the thing about the White supremacist mindset. Being willfully ignorant. And with the lynching, the idea was "blacks are to know their place and not challenge the social order". This is another tenet of White supremacy. The idea of "either Blacks are to know their place, or they should die".

Because Missouri was invaded by hostile forces. 60,000 Missourians fought to defender MO and its sister southern states.

I see a number of confederate flags in southern Missouri especially the Ozarks. It must not bother them one bit. The last time I was in Branson many of the stores on the strip sold rebel flags and paraphernalia including swimsuits with the rebel flag on it.

We might have one of these shooting matches again. The lines will be different I'm sure.
