Mercy Health Care and the Sisters of Mercy Health System seems to be a very big health system in the state of MO.
Do we have anybody working for the system to give any information on how is the organization as an employer? Especially for hospitals outside St. Louis metropolitan area?
What is general public's perception of the Mercy Health system?

Just an STL metro area patient here. I think the public perception of the system is very good. I would say that in STL, Mercy and BJC are the most respected health systems in the region.

^ Agreed. And I have a few friends who have worked for Mercy as nurses and I never heard many employer-specific complaints.

The perception is positive and deserves to be positive.

I also know people that work for Mercy and love it. It seems to be many people's hospital system of choice here.

There seem to be two separate "Mercy's" in St Louis County. At least according to one office that I called. She said "that's a different system" when I mentioned the new Mercy offices at Lindbergh and Gravois.

So, does anyone know? Is the Mercy at Gravois and Lindbergh connected to the SSM system which includes Mercy being discussed here? SSM also includes St Claire and St Anthony's.

Thank you.

I always thought Mercy and SSM were separate entities? I could be wrong!

Hmm? According to Google, you are right. Somewhere in there I've gotten the two mixed up. I'm almost certain that, when I asked someone at St Anthony's if St Anthony's was part of SSM, she said yes.

Then, to start over, Google does confirm that Mercy and St Anthony are joined and that Mercy will be taking over St Anthony's. So, my question still stands. Is the Mercy at Gravois and Lindbergh part of the Mercy this thread is talking about? If I am right, it is the old St John's which became Mercy.

Thanks for straightening me out.

Mercy Clinic Family Medicine - South Lindbergh is listed as a location on mercy.net, along with (under then name Mercy Hospital) St. John's. St. Anthony has been acquired by Mercy, but I don't know if it is yet fully integrated.
