Hey everyone,

I'm about to move into the Maryland Condos on Maryland Ave (CWE). Don't know if anyone knows about the complex or the street. Seems really nice, but seems to be on the fringe of more questionable (read- shady) areas. I know that there's no perfect haven, but was hoping if anyone could offer any insight before I sign off on the final papers. I'd greatly appreciate it

Thanks bunch
-Will

I lived at Maryland and Taylor for two years. Very walkable area, but there are shady folks that are around, so do keep an eye out. I was mugged right outside my building that was in a gated complex. I was not hurt, and they found the guy and my purse, but still. I have lived in DC, Atlanta and Detroit and never had problems. I still like the CWE and think it has gotten much better as it's been further developed, but with any city, you just need to be aware.

CWE is one of the more interesting places to live in the St. Louis area. As others here have posted, always just be aware of your surroundings and you will be fine. Get to know your neighbors. Explore the area(s). Good luck to you. Enjoy your new home.
