ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- St. Louis has made another ranking list and this time for the second year in a row.

WalletHub conducted another review of U.S. cities and found St. Louis to be the least safe city in the country.

Don't people in St Louis County get tired of hearing this and being associated with it? This is reason enough in my opinion for the city and county to merge so that StL is not constantly ranked like this.

In addition to the usual criticisms, this survey purported to be more comprehensive than just crime outlook, but then didn't rank STL in natural disaster risk. You're a lot more likely to be affected by wildfires as a Californian than by gunfire as a St. Louisan (assuming you're not a criminal).

They didn't share their methodology so who even knows how they get their results, but it seems like cities with NA's should've been excluded from the overall rankings.

I try not to get into discussions with posters about statistics because it doesn't give a total picture.

We are more likely to get killed in a car wreck or experience domestic violence than we are being shot in the streets of north St. Louis especially when we don't live there or don't engage in high risk activities.

Who ever heard of Wallethub? Now, thanks to KMOV, they get some attention. Simply click bait for suckers.

It also says we're the fifth most sinful city in the country, but on the left of the page it says we are one of the most fun cities in America.
What does that tell you ?
Boringness is next to Godliness, or something like that ?

When the Rams were discussing moving to St. Louis, it was widely reported that Rams' President John Shaw asked the late Senator Tom Eggleton what St. Louis was like, and he described St. Louis as a "raucous Des Moines."

The metro area is pretty safe as a whole, it is just that the city has more of the crime concentrated in it than a lot of metro areas do.

I saw a different article from a couple of weeks ago where we moved down to 5th most dangerous major city right behind Detroit, Memphis, Birmingham, and Baltimore.
