thought this might interest some. It is interesting how much Clayton has changed over the years, and is still changing.

Jeepers! I was expecting to read that a clan of Hoosiers migrated from Clayton, IN, to St Louis MO. Maybe, if I find out where Mr. Clayton came from?

My family is history in Clayton, IN. Now, back to St Louis County's Clayton. Thanks for the clue. Hazel

Indiana is a fine state. As you apparently know, St. Louis has a history of calling, let's just call them rednecks or something, "Hoosiers". I read once why - but I forget.

I do not know why they are called Hoosiers, either. I've never thought to check that out. Maybe I'll take time to do that today. The rains and the lockdowns are not going to let me out anyway.

I think the story behind it was there was a labor strike and people from Indiana came in to work filling in for strikers.
