I don't do it often, so it's been a while since I ordered Whole Foods Delivery, but I did get what I wanted, as long as it was in stock. I will only order from there if I want something specifically from their deli/pre-made section. Unfortunately, these days, things go out of stock often. The Whole Foods in Brentwood is a nightmare to me so it's nice to have someone else do it. Anyway, it was the same as Instacart or Shipt in that someone goes to the store and does your shopping for you.

Instacart I either get groceries from Schnucks or Fresh Thyme. You get a message anytime anything is out of stock and they will replace. If you don't like the replacement you can ask for something else. You just have to have your phone handy while they are shopping.

I will say, I'm not super picky about my produce, but that seems to be many people's biggest fear...letting someone else pick out their produce. It's always been fine...except for ONE time, I asked for 6 apples and got 6 BAGS of apples. We had apple pie, apple crisp, etc. for a few weeks, LOL. I mean, I love anything apple, so it was funny. It was right at the start of quarantine...what weird thing are you hoarding? Apparently, it was apples.

I absolutely remember Denny's. My Grandmother lived in Grantwood Village and we used to go there. Sad that it's gone. It brings me memories of her.

No, the link did not work. But I have a friend who knows Amazon like the back of her hand. Whizzes through it and swears by it. I'll see what she knows. Of course, she is not in our area but maybe she can get the link.

It sounds like you are using the new Whole Foods. Quite different from the one I knew. I don't know which of the new ones I was in but it was worse than a nightmare. The stockers often did not even know the products I was asking for. I can forgive them not knowing the vegetarian turkey loaf but there were very common foods that they didn't know. Or, didn't want to know?

Schnucks. Ours tells me they use Shipt. However, I am seeing in many stores and Instant cart up in the corner. Maybe you can do both. Who do you give your order to if you use Instacart? Do you call them or do you do the online shopping? Well, I can ask them when I call. So far, all of the stores have said hey have nothing to do with the shopping We have to deal entirely with the shopper companies. Interesting that the stores want no connection to the shopper companies. "Hands off; you're on your own". There's a message there.

I lived close enough to Denny's to walk there. Never had to take a cab. I don't like taking cabs because they get me where I want to go and then I can't get them back when I'm ready to go home. I have waited as much s three hours. And this was before Covid. Probably worse now. Would be nice to have a neighborhood store again. So it goes.

Well, I've talked too much. Work to do here. Thank you for the clue to Amazon. I'll email my friend and see what she knows. Hazel

Search Whole Foods on Amazon and the page for ordering delivery should come up. However, I agree that Whole Foods is not the same since Amazon. I used to go frequently. Now, just when I have a craving for the chicken salad. Fresh Thyme is a better option now.

I use a phone app for Instacart, haven't tried to order online from there.

Speaking of your phone app, I cannot remember where but one of the places I read about took order by (only) mobile phones. I wondered why they care where their orders come from if they get paid. Isn't that what they are in business for. But, they'd have to create another app. Right?

That is one of those things that I say Covid did not cause - businesses forcing people to use the net and use it only certain ways despite what the customer's issues. Do it their way or do without. Like the old days when buildings had no access ramps. Same thing.

I have been using InstaCart to shop from Schnucks, Aldi and Costco. It's fine, and deliveries are like 99% accurate to what I ordered. I'm grateful for it during the pandemic, but I'm definitely dropping it as soon as I'm vaccinated.

You might prefer to use Uber or Lyft. I've used Uber when I've had car troubles, in the past. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 5 minutes for a ride. If you have a smart phone, you can down load the app, and it's very convenient. It'll even show you how far away your ride is, and gives an estimate on when to expect them, and even what kind of car to look for.
