I'd go with the CWE over Clayton, but that's just a personal preference. U. City is great too.

Whichever you choose, commuting here will be much better than it is for you in Atlanta! People here sometimes complain about traffic, but what we have is NOTHING compared to most other cities.

I know Daniel Feinberg Real Estate tends to be real heavy on listings in the CWE and U City, and located right in the heart of the area. I would definitely check them out.

Just wanted to chime in and say another Georgian has just transferred into to Missouri. We were from North Georgia. We fell in love with St. Louis and all of Missouri. DH commutes to Wentzville and we picked Eureka, MO. Just loved the area and found a place we could NOT live without. Either of us will commute to come home to "paradise".

We used Merle Schnieder at Schneider Real Estate - serving St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren and Jefferson County No pressure and very informative.

Come on to St. Louis....you will love it!

I am a City and historic focused Realtor. I have another suggestion of a place you may like...Try the Lafayette Square or Soulard. You will need a little bit of money to purchase there but people love those areas too. The CWE is a great place to live. We have an agent in the office who has lived there for many, many years. I would suggest going with her. We all have our own areas of specialization at Circa.

www.circastl.com her name is Margaret Fox. She is a no-nonsense type of woman that is highly dedicated. I guess it is her past career as a mediation attorney.

For roughly half the price of CWE you could try anywhere in Tower Grove and get much better value, including off-street parking. You get great historic properties, great parks and decent shopping/restaurants with easy access to the highways and downtown.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions, all of which I'll explore when the time is right. The current economic crisis has created a "soft freeze" on hiring by my target company, so it remains to be seen if a move the St. Louis will happen, or not......
