On a side note: Keep in mind that just because a school here is Roman Catholic, Jesuit Catholic, or Marianist, doesn't mean that only kids who are of that religion go there.

University City Senoir High School
Location: Midcounty (University City obviously)
Public/Private: Public
Tuition: 0$
Enrollment: 1,041
% of Non-Caucasian Students: 92%
Average Student ACT Score: 18.7 (ranked 80 out of 97 area high schools and 49 out of 64 area public high schools).

On their City-Data school profile the school is rated an 8 out of 100. They're discipline incident rate is 8.5%, compared to the state average of 2.9%.

These facts may be a little misleading. From what i've heard, the future of most U-City Senoir High Students is either "Yale or Jail". So there definetly are some high achieving students in the student body.

Thanks Aaron. From what I understand the elementary/middle are pretty good there. Yale or Jail? At least they will get some form of education

Do you have some info on the private h.s. in UCity?

One more question on UCity - "non-caucasion" is pretty broad. I know race is discussed quite differently in STL than in CA. Is there racism toward white or mixed race students? Also, what does the discipline rate encompass? Fights happen in any school but does the number represent more than fights? Would my daughter feel scared or threatened?

There are 32 private high schools in St. Louis (all would give a much different vibe than U-City would). I have a mixed race (white/black) friend who goes to U-City that definetly isn't the "ghetto" type. He seems like he enjoys it over there and fits in pretty well.
Discipline Incident Statistics

Incidents Involving Weapons Rate: .6%

Don't be afraid to rep me for the help.
