Due to economic forces, the amount of tax money being spent on duplicate tasks, the StL mayor and the StL county administrator today have announced that the city will once again become part of the county. This is scheduled to take effect immediately - as it is also part of the national stimulus package.

In related news, MetroLink will also go out to St Charles, officials reported, stating that they have now seen the errors of their past ways, and that those on the other side of the Missouri River are indeed potential important riders [ie: revenue].

As part of the City-County merger, the joint task force that will oversee this transition will be reviewing all townships and smaller cities within their domain, forcing those that are smaller than 10 square miles to merge with adjoining cities... plans are being drawn up to have new cities, such as, for example St. Ferguson, Maplegroves, Sunset Park, Kirkpark, and Town & Peres.

Lastly, to help streamline the road names in the new areas, all names of the streets and roads will also be reviewed. For instance, Lindbergh will remain Lindbergh its entire length, no more of that funky Kirkwood Rd. Likewise, for example, Chambers Road and Airport Road will be combined names into Champort Road for its entire length.

More changes are coming for the area [something about the Arch, Zoo, Landing, etc.], but that news release will not be available until 365 days from now, according to sources that were contacted.

In other news, the Chicago Cubs announced that the team will relocate to St. Louis for the start of the 2012 season. Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts and St. Louis Cardinals Chairman Bill Dimwitt Jr. today announced a joint venture to redevelop the stalled Ballpark Village site into Wrigley Field II. "We believe locating these two storied teams side-by-side will create a new synergy that the baseball world has never seen" said Dimwitt Jr. Plans call for a 3/4 mile concrete fence ringed with barbed wire to separate the two stadiums. "We don't want things to get out of hand" said Ricketts.
