My family will be moving back to the St Louis area this summer and I noticed that there hasn't been any information about South County on this forum. We left in 2002 and liked it there a lot. On apartment complex we lived in was Brazillia Apts and have been thinking about moving there again. That being said it has been quite a while and I want to make sure the area is still as nice and safe as it was then. We would like to stay under $800 a month and that is also a big plus to the South County area, there seems to be a lot of rentals within our price range. Although if the area has gone to pot it is not worth it to us. Safety and a good school district are our most important selling points. Any and all help with this is greatly appreciated! I cannot wait to get back, I have missed St Louis since the day we left!

South County is VERY safe. That is one thing you don't have to worry about at all.

Brasilia has gone to pot. They started letting in the Section 8 garbage:

Brazilia Apartments Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other St. Louis apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

Have you considered Kinswood Place?

I thought there might be issues, when we left there in the summer of 2002 I noticed there were a lot of shady people starting to hang around, that is a shame, it used to be a nice place to live! I tried looking for Kinswood Place with no luck, do you have a web address? Thanks to both of you for your help! We are hoping to go up there in mid June to look at properties and I just don't want to waste any time on places I know we will not want to live!

South county as a whole is one of the safest places to live. Just make sure to stay out of apartment coomplexes with anything more than a handful of section 8 residents.

If you liked it in 2002, you won't find it significantly changed since then.

No, I said when we left that area in 2002 it seemed to be going to pot. If it is still that way now, or worse, then I do not want to live in that complex.

I meant South County in general. I don't know anything about that particular complex.

south county is great, brasilia has been on a decline it seems in the last 6 years or so but there are many nice places around it, and the area is great still
