Busy-Yes. Loud-Maybe sometimes. But Dirty? The CWE is pretty far from dirty.

The pictures are great. I miss my City so much. Born and raised in St. Louis. Married and moved to my hubby's home state, but my heart forever remains in St. Louis.

Grew up in Tower Grove South. Was married at Tower Grove Baptist Church. We lived on the Arsenal side of the Park, but spent our days on the Magnolia side scouting the boys. Seemed to be more cute ones on that side. What a sweet time to grow up. What a sweet place to grow up. St. Louis will forever be "Home."

Ok, so Clayton's not technically a neighborhood. But then I consider Clayton an extension of the larger St. Louis area, and I didn't realize this thread was just about St. Louis city neighborhoods, which explains the absence. But there are some wonderful areas, such as Clayshire, DeMun, the Moorlands, Wydown Terrace, Forsyth, and I was surprised not to see any of them.

I used to live on Forsyth--beautiful with all the huge trees in the summer. It can be hot as heck out, but there's always still shade. Also liked that I could easily walk to 2 Metrolink stations, and to downtown Clayton. Lots of WashU students there too.

My first apartment ever was on Northwood, technically St. Louis city, but using a Clayton zip code (63105), as Clayton started smack dab in the middle of the block. I was just up the street from the Concordia Seminary park, across Skinker from Forest Park, where I often walked to the art museum, walking distance to hair salons, delis, boutiques, the Hi Pointe theater and lots of other stuff. I had a charming, HUGE apartment in an old brownstone building with a big sunroom on the front. Loved, loved, loved living there.

Not my building, but one on the same street.

DeMun Avenue
