St. Louis has so many unique neighborhoods that it's hard to pick from among them. How about Parkview Place, any of the private places in the CWE, and St. Louis Hills to name a few? U City is full of great neighborhoods, too., and Clayton just oozes wealth and charm.

My favorite neighborhood? Kosciusko.

Okay, just kidding! But I had to name that one, since no one else will. You see, that the city of St Louis recognizes Kosciusko as an official "neighborhood"... yet it had NO actual residents in the last census! Kind of strange to have a neighborhood with no people, eh?
Here's some more info about Kosciusko: St. Louis Neighborhoods: Kosciusko
IMO, the city should just combine Kosciusko with Soulard.

Where is Parkview Place and what do the private places in Central West End look like?

Also what side of town is Lafayette Square in? I heard it was once a slum?

Lafayette Square is a neighborhood that borders a portion of the south part of downtown and next to Soulard. It really wasnt a very good neighborhood back in the 90's and part of the 00's. Then in 2003 it was transformed into a great neighborhood in what seemed overnight. There was alot of abandon building that are now restored to glory. Its borders are Chouteau to the north, Jefferson to the West, and 18th to the east. Go check it out.

The private streets in CWE are splendiferous!!!!! My parents had lots of friends that lived on those streets, as did my uncle, who had a very successful interior design/antique business in the CWE..........I believe that those influences led to my career decision.

Boy, its been a lot of years, cant recall specific names, but I can tell you where to look.
There are quite a few in the Compton Heights area, you will might have to walk into them, and be prepared for security to ask questions.
Also, in the area around the Botanical Gardens there are some wonderful private streets. Again, be prepared for security.
