This is a pretty random question, but I figured I would try.

I went to SLU for undergrad, and recently returned to St Louis for a job. I moved to the Webster Groves area. I always attended mass on campus, so I really have no idea what else is out there. Can anyone recommend a strong parish in the webster/brentwood/maplewood/richmond heights area? I'm looking for a parish with a strong young adult population (20-30somethings) and a strong community feel, I guess.

Thanks

There are a couple of strong parishes in Webster. I would attend Mass a few times and check things out.

Good Luck!

Although I know of parishes in your area, I can't personally recommend one. However, I wanted to note that if you plan to register officially at a parish, many of them have requirements that you live within their boundaries. Keep that in mind because some parishes may not register you if you live in a different parish's boundaries. If you don't care about registering, then feel free to attend whichever church you like the best. And there are parishes out there willing to register you even if you don't live close by. It's usually up to the pastor. It wouldn't hurt to visit several churches for Mass, and then inquire about registering once you find one you like. Good luck!

Would love to move closer to downtown, but my boyfriend owns a place here. Slightly jealous of my friends living in tower grove, lafayette square, cwe, dogtown, etc...then again, I'm pretty close to both 40 & 44, so getting downtown is easy, and I'm still enjoying all that the city offers.

So, it sounds like Webster might be the best bet...

Webster is pretty cool too and I think of it as one of the more "city-like" suburbs. As for parishes, you can throw a rock and hit a Catholic church anywhere here so the best bet is to just attend a few different ones near by and see which congregation/Priest you like the best. I have family that goes to Our Lady of Sorrows, St. Joan of Arc, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Marks and all seem to be satisfied...well... at least they keep going .

I would also not be in an hurry to register if it all. Shop around until you find something you like, in, or near, or not in an near your geographic location.

Just go to the church in the parish you live in. Sounds like you're in the Mary Queen of Peace/Holy Redeemer/Annunciation area.
