Date in Chesterfield? A good start would be hopping on I-64 and travel east about 20 miles.

I kid, I kid

Good luck to you on your first date.

True.

At the very least, don't go to Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's or any other chain restaurant.

I don't understand this logic. If a place has good food, but happens to be a chain, avoid it?

You have got to impress with originality. Save the franchises for when you are dating steadily or Married.

Glow-in-the-dark Miniature Golf (http://www.opryglowgolf.com/lo_chesterfield.htm - broken link). What fun!

The Sachs Butterfly House. Beautiful! Then have dinner afterwards. Anyplace will do after you've wowed her with the Butterfly House.

The Kemp Auto Museum. Could make for some fascinating dinner conversation later.

Go Ice Skating! By the end, she'll be breathless in your arms!

Have a great time whatever you do!

Going to either a medium priced or expensive sit down dinner is original?

Two cents for original poster:

Don't go to sit down dinner
Don't go to movie
Don't spend a lot of money

Do get out and about and walk around on your date.
Do make an effort in terms of inexpensive activity and conversation.

If this person becomes extend beyond the early dating stage, then you can do some of those other things down the road after you know that person is willing to hang with you for fun inexpensive activity and/or conversation. And after a few dates, if this person doesn't pay or offer to pay for some of your date, say bye bye. I'd say if this doesn't happen on date 3 there is no date 4. This could also be moved up one date. If you did the asking you must expect for all of date one. And likely date two.

Good luck.

I recommend Mcdonalds. If you stick to the happy meals, it's pretty affordable. Also, take the bus there to save even more. Plus it's original, you'll almost certainly be the first person to take her on a bus ride to McDonalds for a first date.

Sounds kind of creepy.
