Greetings!
It looks like I will be relocating very quickly to the St. Louis area and I could really use some help in calculating "real" commute times on the following. I will be working VERY near the STL airport, and we plan to live very close to one of the 3 Montessori schools that takes children through age 12. So would someone give me a sense of actual drive time, think 7:30a and 5:00p on the following routes:
Kirkwood to Airport
Chesterfield to Airport
St. Charles to Airport

I am spoiled in that my commute right now is 4 miles and 12 minutes - I would LOVE to have a commute truly be under 20 minutes each way - even at peak times.
Thank you all!

7:30AM is RIGHT before heavy rushhour, so still swift typically. THese are, of course, depending on location WITHIN the townships...

Kirkwood to Airport: approx 15-30 min
Chesterfield to Airport: approx 20-40 min
St. Charles to Airport: this one VERY much depends on how far out you live, whether you take 70 or page extension, and bridge conditions but 15-30 min.

5:30 is a little more tough on Kirkwood and Chesterfield, as 270 s can be a total mess and 5:30 is PEAK.

Airport to Kirkwood: approx 20-40 min
Airport to Chesterfield: approx 25-40 min
Airport to St. Charles: 20-40 same conditions above

The problem with Kirkwood and Chesterfield: you are reliant on 270. 270 can be your best friend or worst enemy, depending on the day.

I would choose Kirkwood or St. Charles (Kirkwood 1st, although both are nice for suburbs). Chesterfield is a little to "west county" for my taste, but you might love it. As for highways, St. Charles (if near 70) would be best. 270 can be a nightmare. It'll be 25-30 minutes from each place (imo) ... maybe a tad shorter depending where in St. Charles.

You should be able to make all of those within 30 minutes. Also, note that Stl rush hour is very short compared to some other larger metros and doesn't last all that long if your times staggered a small amount. It's actually a very big selling point for a metro of its size.
