We are a gay male couple that moved to Ellisville from Los Angeles a month ago with our two almost four years old sons. We are looking to meet and make hopefully long lasting friendships. Are there any Gay's and Lesbians around this area?

Thanks

Not quite sure about that area, but I'd imagine the gay population isn't very large at all. It's more cookie cutter suburbia, instead of the more progressive areas of the city that my gay friends seem to prefer. There's a few gay bars at Manchester & Vandeventer that my friends like, and most live nearby in the Central West End or Forest Park Southeast. Of course, this is anecdotal and I'm no expert.

^ The gay community is certainly strongest in the Central West End, the grove, FPSE as well as some other parts of the city proper, but I know of several gay families living in west county. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. Welcome to St. Louis!

No, I think Tower Grove South has a stronger gay community than CWE. I see a lot of gay people, there are a few "gay" bars, and the annual gay pride parade in Tower Grove Park.

One thing I can definetly confirm is that you will not find many homosexuals in the homogeneous area of far west county.

Welcome to St Louis! I would try attending a meeting at the LGBT center, The LGBT Community Center of St. Louis. It's true that a large percentage of the gay population lives in the city and central corridor, but you shouldn't have a problem. I have gay friends scattered all over the metro area.

First of all, welcome! St. Louis City was one of the first three cities (NY, SF, STL) to recognize same sex partners. The pride parade is apparently the 5th largest, although that isn't so much my scene.. I'd suggest the "gayest areas" of the metro area are Central West End, Tower Grove, Grove, Downtown, South City in general. I know of two gay couples in Ladue.. not many farther west, but I'm sure there are. Welcome!

I live in Ballwin, and have several neighbors who are gay... in addition to a number of friends who live West of 270 There is quite a large gay population in West County. That being said, I would say that the community activities aren't aplenty out here... and are centered more central as mentioned above.

Default Gays in Ellisville

Hello! Welcome to St. Louis! We are an older lesbian couple, and we are in the process of moving from the San Francisco Bay Area to Ellisville. We have been looking for LGBTQ resources in the area and would like to meet your family. Our realtor is a lesbian, and she told us about the Tower Grove pride festival. We’ve found a LGBTQ friendly ice cream shop called Clementine’s and a restaurant called Wolf’s.
