What's the word on downtown lofts and condos? Good investments or a trend?

Default I think that it's for real!

Hi there. My name is Bob and I own a real estate and mortgage company that used to have our office in the loft district. At first I thought that it was a fad and that it got over built too quickly. However, I just listed a loft down town to sell and when I was doing the comps, this guy's loft had gone up by around $25,000 in three years. Makes me think that it's for real!

Bob

Wow... I've heard so much buzz on the redevelopment of the downtown area, especially the Marquette building. Is downtown safe at night?

There really is no such thing as a downtown city that is safe at night, but STL is slowly becoming one of the safest, you just have to be smart about it, stay alert and aware of whats around you and you'll be fine. Dont go too far alone tho it makes you more vulnerable. The only downside to living in downtown st. lu is that in most cases you will have to walk outside of your place and across the street or further to get to your car. Other than that I prefer downtown living especially in STL and I highly suggest getting a loft and there are plenty, so good luck!
