^ there are several over/under passes you can take so not to have to wait for the trains.

IMO, the trains add to the unique quaint small town feel of Kirkwood and Webster. It's nice to see people greeting friends and loved ones at the stations, and kids of all ages love to watch the trains.

I cannot comment for the the houses directly adjacent to the tracks, but I can assure you, after a few months living within earshot of the trains you would rarely notice the noise. Fans, Ac unit, Tv all drown it out and the sound doesn't travel nearly as far when the trees have leaves. Like most things, you get used to it.

The train stations are what allowed the Webster and Kirkwood downtowns to be built which in my opinion are those communities greatest assets.

Florissant is full of wonderful people, restaurants and constantly getting new companies moving into the area. It is not full of nasty people as Jack G said. It has lots of activities, fairs and a wonderful community live Theater in one of 2 great community centers. Many of the folks work at BOEING. It is close the the airport and only about 18 to 20 miles from downtown St Louis where all the National baseball and football games are. Florissant is listed as no 17 in Movoto's safest cities in all of Missouri and is listed as the best senior city by Movoto based on all the wonderful senior activities with a transport service to get seniors to any facility (doctor, store etc.) within the Florissant area all without charge.

There's nothing wrong with boosting Florissant... but I agree that there's no need to restart such an old thread in Florissant's defense!
