A good study by scientists at the U.S. Dept of Agiculture fed mice with amyloid plaques at 4 months of age Blueberry Extract for 8 months then observed them in maze test and did just as well as the normal mice without the plaques.
Interesting study and another reason to eat Blueberries....
Sidenote: Meant to post Mice and not Rats at the Subtitle. I better eat more Blueberries...lol...

Blueberries and many other Natural foods are the medicines of the past and hopefully the future too! They are natural, gentle medicines as opposed to the dangerous, poisonous chemicals that the drug companies are peddaling....thereby turning the USA into a drugged out society. Have you had your blueberries today?
blessings....Franco

The ''Father of Medicine'' Hyppocrates said it perfect in 400 bc. ''Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food''. What wisdom from such a long time ago !!

that is interesting news. I really don't care for blueberries. I wonder what is in them that does this? I eat a lot of blackberries. Wonder if they would have same thing in them as blueberries, being that they are the same color. I say this because certain blue fruits have an ingredient that is good for you.

Yeap Jessaka .....as all the Blue fruits have powerful Phytonutrients called Anthocyanidins. These are in Blue/Blackberries, Grapes (Grape Seed Extract), Pomegranates, Red Wine (Resveratrol) Plums, Raisons and Purple Cabbage just to name a few. There's alot of research into these Anthocyanidins into all the Cancer prevention and Heart Protector and their ability to make certain Longevity Genes (Sirt-1) express in the cells which makes/keeps us younger longer so i try to eat them whenever i can.....

This is a great thread. Naked Juice has something purple called Blue Machine (Is that what it's called?). Anyhow, I better start drinking more of this blue stuff. Thanks for the reminder!
