Personally, I have mixed feelings on the absorbability of TABLETS, even those consisting of high qualtity organic nutrients. Some of those tablets seem so hard, I wonder if they actually break down in the digestive system or go right on thru...straight into the toilket bowl. I have some doctor friends who refer to vitamin tablets as expensive urine! On the plus side, tablets do seem to be less expensive than capsules. My workaround is to crush up the tablets before I take them, rather than swallowing them whole with water.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thought and feelings on this.

blessings...Franco

Franco, I would say that 95% of vitamins in tablet form go straight through me undigested. I usually get my vitamins from a naturopath who sells the all-natural capsules of Thorne Research brand, and those are fine for me.

I will note that the only tablet vitamins I've ever been able to digest well were the Rainbow Light prenatals I took during my last two pregnancies.

I would say that a lot of vitamins in tablet form go right through your system. I have a friend that was young and taking them and found that out.

Since then I have only bought capsules or gel. If I have to buy a tablet I powder it first. The best way to know if your tablets are breaking down is to put them in vinegar water for 20 minutes to see if they dissolve, and if they don't they won't in your system. If you are an older person then I would take tablets that dissolve in 20 minutes with vinegar/honey/water. Maybe 1/2-1 tablespoon to each to 8 oz. water. I say this because as we age we have less digestive juices.

I only buy capsules just for that reason.
